Welcome to the homepage of Brighten Academy, a Douglas County Charter School. Brighten Academy currently serves grades K-8. We are located at 3264 Brookmont Parkway in Douglasville, GA.

BRIGHTEN ACADEMY SUMMER CAMP
Brighten Academy Summer Camp

Grades: Kindergarten- 8th

When: June 3rd – July 24th

Camp Hours are: 7:15 am to 6:15 pm Registration fee is $30.00 per family and camp cost is $95.00 per week. Drop In Rate is $35.00 per day. Enroll two or more campers full time and pay only $90.00 a week per child Hurry!!! Register DEADLINE EXTENDED TO APRIL 30TH and receive $15.00 off the registration fee if you register by then. Spaces are Limited Activities and Themes will include… Hawaii, Pirates, Lost in Space, Camping, Wild West, Carnival, Weird Science, Summer Olympics, Arts and Crafts, Culinary Creations, Games, Water Days, and Sports.
Campers will need to bring their lunches. All snacks and fun will be provided. Summer tutoring will be available upon request from 10am until 12pm three days per week.

OPEN ENROLLMENT & LOTTERY DRAWING
Our enrollment for the 2009-2010 school year took place the first two weeks in February. At this time all classes are full. Each grade level also has a wait list. We will continue to take applications for 5th, 7th and 8th to be placed at the bottom of the current wait list. All other wait lists range in size from 30-80 deep. Thank you for your interest in our school!!!

Would you like to donate technology equipment? Below are the minimum requirements.

We thank you for your interest in a possible donation of technology equipment. Please follow the below guidelines when making your donations:
* Prefer Dell PC's
* Processor....Intel Pentium 4 or higher
* Memory....1 GB or more memory
* Hard Drive...40 GB or more
* Built in Ethernet Card
* Monitors...17" or larger LCD flat panel
If you have equipment and are unsure if it will be acceptable, please send an email to jhelms@brightenacademy.com or technology@brightenacademy.com.

Enrollment

Thank you for your interest in Brighten Academy. At this time our school enrollment is full for the 2008/2009 school year in grades K-6 with a wait list for each grade as well. Due to this, we are no longer accepting enrollment packages at this time for those grade levels

We do have openings in 8th grade and some possible openings and a shorter wait list for grade 7. For these 2 grades we ARE accepting enrollment applications. If you are interested in these grade levels and obtaining an application, please contact the school.

Should we have any changes in the future, we will reopen registration by announcing it on this website.

Enrollment for the 2009-2010 school year:

All details for enrollment are listed under the admissions tab to the left. We will not accept enrollment applications until the first 2 weeks in February (February 2nd - 16th).

Preschool Registration for the 2009-2010 school year will begin in March. Please check the website on March 1 for an updated enrollment form.

FOOD OPTIONS AT BRIGHTEN ACADEMY

Brighten does not have a lunchroom service but we do have 2 outside sources that offer lunch at our school. You will work directly with these businesses to order and pay for your child's lunch choice.

One is campus Cuisine who offers service on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please click below to be directed to their website.
