Brighten Academy Preschool
The mission at Brighten Academy is to provide a productive learning environment with a highly-qualified staff committed to using an innovative, research-based instructional model that produces measured growth in every student every year. We have added a comprehensive, yet flexible preschool program to serve the families of our staff, school, and community, in hopes of furthering our mission.
4 Year Old Class
Our 4 year-old class will have up to 14 students who are taught by a lead teacher and a teacher’s assistant. The hours of daily instruction are from 8:15-3:00, with drop-off starting at 7:45 and pick-up no later than 3:30. We offer extended care Monday - Friday until 5:30 p.m. for an additional charge. Transportation, lunches, and student snacks will be the parents’ responsibility. The classroom will be housed within the school building of Brighten Academy Charter School. While at school, the students will follow a daily schedule that focuses on literacy, exploration, and social development. We will use the Creative Curriculum and Core Knowledge Program to structure our day and provide the guidance necessary to sustain a program that includes developmentally-appropriate activities with real-world application. Students enrolled in the class must be four on or before September 1st, 2010. The students are expected to be toilet trained.
3 Year Old Class
